At home now..

At home

Last semester was one of the busiest and tiring semesters of all semesters I’ve ever experience. First of all there’s thesis. Even though I avoided being appointed president of the science club the second year around, I became the USC COMELEC, Science and Technology representative. It was a really fun experience since it was the first time that the university introduced electronic voting which is pretty cool because I love computer programming and I learned a lot from intranet and encoding candidates and voters. I guess if I could get a second course it would be computer science plus I get to bond with my other COMELEC-mates really well. I keep getting into positions that at first I really don’t have great knowledge or experience about but hey as they say, there’s always a first time for everything.

Activities of Science and Technology: Since Dionne is the President of the School of Science and Technology Student Council, we, her classmates are full-support with her activities for the school. Freshmen Orientation, I chair the certificates. The Science and Technology week I get to chair the certificates but this was simultaneous with the organization elections so I didn’t get to help as much as I could with the exhibition at the Student Activity Center. I was more focused on the elections. Talent explosion, I was the invitation chair.

Science Club. Even though I’m no longer an officer I still do help out in the organization. The 1st General Assembly, I was the Certificate chair and made the opening prayer video. KKK was the invitation chair and I get to go to ABS CBN broadcasting station to personally give Kim Atenza his invitation. It’s was really cool because during the event we get to play with his “pets” I especially love his pet snake! Pictures at facebook. As you might have notice, invitation and certificates are my specialty!

I passed PLDT Ventus interview but I’m much closed minded about it. It’s an opportunity to work at a call center, earn a lot and has many benefits. I’m focused to getting into med school so working at call center is a no no.

I get to experience being a contestant of the English guild speech festival. It was very impromptu because I get to deliver an impromptu introduction speech plus I was informed a day before the event. I do have more than 24 hrs. I was informed in the morning and the event was on the afternoon the next day. The preparation was definitely less than 24 hours. I’ve blogged about this at my multiply and friendster blog site.

As always we are prepared to exhibit and promote our course BS Biology and CEU to students who are graduating from high school at the SMX Center. We prepared Acapulco ointments to give away and I get to somewhat “host” during the event by inviting people to come and check out the CEU booth. Pictures at facebook.

Just recently I attended the job hunting seminar and it is fun dressing up in corporate attire. This is my roommate, EJ, specialty. I remember during just our first year, they were required to wear corporate attire once a week since their field is more on the business side. I don’t really see myself using this type of attire because I usually visualize myself in scrubs and rubber shoes. I have been using corporate attire since last year, it was my first time being a student leader and I have to attend various leadership seminars from all around the Philippines more like just the Luzon area =).

Right now I was recommended to join the mind quest competition which is a shocker to me. I’ve never expected to a contender. It is in cooperation with the Science Club so I expected to be in the working committee. Unfortunately since I’m a contestant I’m not allowed to be in working committee. Louie planned to put me in certificates hehe. Again, Program and Invitations or Certificates!

This sembreak I’m reviewing my thesis, NMAT and now additional mind quest. Sigh! Wish me LUCK next semester. I so badly need it! There you have it. The highlights of my 1st semester of my fourth year in college!
