This week

meeting the Darwin youth choir

went to mass and watch the Darwin youth choir recital. They're so good!! They're diapharm is up everytime they sang and they're mouth (as they sing) is really an 'o' shape! They sang money (not the apprentice theme song) it goes something like this 'money, money, money its a rich man's world. If I could only have some money.'

we have the chance to meet them (by a dare! Ivan or was it Jayson has a crush on one of the youth so they dare me to get they're email add) at first I was so shy so I told NJ to accompany me. It wasn't just a dare, I wanted to meet them too.they (the Darwin youth choir) was sitting in one big table eating and talking to one another. So I was like walking around them hahaha (they still didn't notice) and I was carrying a pen and a paper thinking on how to make my move. Jess's sis saw me and went 'you want to take their signature kah?' and I went 'no! Just their e-mail..' I replied with a smile.

I finally have the courage to walk forward them and I smiled and say "Hi! I'm Sarah." and NJ cuts in "and I'm NJ we are the youths here in Brunei" then a lady said 'can all of you gather and have a group picture taken' so I called Jayson and Ivan (who was standing at one corner watching us) to come join in the group picture. After that I said ' hey do you guys have an e-mail add' and they all said yes. So I handed them a piece of paper and a pen (which was ivan's) and one of them, I think it was Hannah said 'do u want us to write our names too' and I nodded and introduced them to Ivan and jayson. Then there's this girl name tiffany she's like the oldest said where we are schooling and we all said SGS and some PDS and IS and they said they're going to JIS to sing and IS (said nick) NJ try to call some of the youth and I was like the only girl representing the brunei youth. We try to guess their age and when I told them that I was 16, they all were in shock! They said I look older :s hahaha

there's this really CUTE and ADORABLE girl name Eliasah. She's so cute! oh yeah I said that already! Anyways she was the youngest. They all look so young! eliasah I taught she was 6 hahaha but she's 10 coming 11 :p

we took alot of group pictures I think there was alot of camera flashing here and there and I was 'where to look? which camera?' I forget to bring my camera :(


After all that Eliasah was like 'I don't want to be famous anymore' and we all laugh.

NJ was like ' we do not have a youth choir but we do have a youth band. Sarah's our singer'

one of them said 'sarah why don't you sing for us' in my mind I was like 'whatttttt???? me????? nnnnooooo!!!!! I mean me sing in front of the professional singers!? You've got to be kidding!'

'C'mon Sarah! Sing!'

tiffany was holding a video cam!

okay sarah think fast. Think fast!

'ahm.... ahm.... Ivan here is a rapper!' I shouted

really!? Wow! A rapper! Can you rap for us pls' the Darwin youth choir pleaded

'yes finally the centre of attention wasn't me anymore!' I though to myself

Ivan standing there blushing ' okay i'll not rap . Instead i'll do joutebox instead '

so he started to joutebox-ing and the Darwin youth choir nodded and danced with the tune

after he had finished we all cheered and clapped

'now its sarah's turn'

freak! I should have escaped when I had the chance to!

eliasah was like ' i'll give you a present if you sing. pls sing. We promise we wont laugh.'

okay there's no turning back okay what to sing, what to sing. 'okay' I finally said 'i'll sing if all the brunei youths sing with me.'

I look at the bandar youths and they all nodded

I asked the Darwin youth whether they knew hillsong and they all said no.

and I was like okay nevermind.

I thought to myself 'all day' or 'one way'

'okay all day' I said

I took a deep breath trying to remember the lyrics. I saw the red light of the video cam, meaning it was recording.

'5,6,7,8....'

'i don't care what they said about me it's alright, its alright........' I started singing

I could only hear my voice non of the brunei youths seem to be singing

I just did the first verse and did the chorus twice I ended.

they all cheer and I guess I blushed alot!

I requested elaisah to sing and she sang together with the other Darwin youth who sang backup

they requested uri to sing! but he refused! hahaha he ended up not singing. as we were about to go and said our 'good-bye's. elaisah came up to me and said 'I promise that i'll give you a present and here! she handed me a ahm... look at the pic before this blog. I know she promise but I didn't know she was serious!
we hug before I left.

I'm surely gonna miss them. its nice knowing new ppl (especially youths from other countries)
