Semester's Break Part one..Jala Jala

I’m back at my dorm equipped with my laptop and wiifii that is provided in the dormitory which gives me unlimited access to the internet. I’m suppose to be in Paranaque (home) right now with my sis enjoying the semester’s break aka worry free, endless television marathon, eating home cooked meal and my most favorite part is waking up and sleeping any time of the day.

Even though I was there for two days, I can’t help but start thinking about the work that’s undone and left for me to do. I can’t do it there because there is no access to the internet and no nearby computer shop. Basically my laptop is useless without the internet.

Anyways I do have a great and awesome “beginning” sembreak. After the exam with Dr. Perez, we, Gelli, Apple, Dionne and I went straight to Jala-Jala, somewhere at the end of Rizal Province. We left Mendiola at around 3 in the afternoon and arrived at Jala-Jala at 8 in the evening. This is where Apple grew up. We get to meet her family and stayed at their house for three days and two nights. It was an awesome three days stayed at Jala-Jala. Apple’s family is so accommodating. I love her family. Her mom gave up her room for us because her room was the only room that has air-condition. I blame Apple for telling her family that I was from Brunei and that I “MIGHT” be having trouble sleeping without an air-condition. This is so untrue. It just so happen that I have been sleeping in an air-condition room all my life but that doesn’t mean that I can’t sleep without an air-condition. Her family even brought us to Piipit Laguna to swim on running waters. It was so refreshing and stress relieving. We get to scream out all our worries and problems like biochemistry, history and other “love”- related problems and no one would hear us cause the sounds of the water falling and running drowned the noise we’re making. It was a great experience to be able to just let go and scream out all your problems, worries and fear. It’s a great exercise, seriously. Every time I’m stressed out, I go to bathroom, turn on the shower to its maximum and just scream. I’ll request a sound proof bathroom from my parents anytime soon. =p We get to watch how Apple’s relatives and the so called “Mga kabataan” (the youth in Apple’s province) prepared and made this dessert called kayapakan?? made out of cassava. Anyways it was delicious and we get to send some time with them and chat till 3 in the morning. Before we leave Jala-Jala another ground breaking experiences that Apple and her boyfriend, Jojo has in stores for us. That is climbing up the mountain. Not just any mountain! Have you seen how high the mountains are when you pass by Alonggopo or Pampangga? That’s how high we’ve climbed and it’s the raining season so it’s really slippery. I got my feet soak in mud and slip a few times but it was worth it in the end. You get to see this amazing view. The ocean, the whole village and far away you could see a small part of Manila! That’s how high we were. We drank mountain dew that was brought and packed by Jojo for us then we went down the mountain. One of Apple’s cousin joked that we climbed the mountain just to drink mountain dew! It was tiring yet an awesome experience. I would want to go back to Jala-Jala in the near the near future.

It was a long and tiring journey on the way back to Manila from Jala-Jala. I’ve reached Manila around 9pm.Get this! I’ve slept 3 in the morning the previous night, woke up at around 7 in the morning (4 hours of sleep) climbed a mountain! the whole morning and walked the entire village until 4pm cause there was literally no mode of transportation in Jala-Jala but to walk! Then went back to Apple’s house to bath and pack. Traveled back and reached Manila late at night. The next day I have to attend SCOP seminar in Subic! I went back to dorm, dropped my things beside my bed and went to sleep. The next morning I have to wake up early to unpack my things used in Jala-Jala and pack for SCOP. Call time in CEU is at 8a.m.
