My 20th

On the eve of my 20th I was in bed watching center stage. The movie ended exactly at 11:55pm. I checked my phone and there was no has new messages. I went to the bathroom to prepare myself to go to bed. While in the bathroom I heard the chime ringing as the door opened and the click of the open light switch. I went out of the bathroom and see happy birthday balloons on the floor together with red ribbon cake box and my sister. She gladly said and greeted me, “It’s already 12! Happy Birthday!”

I opened her little present, it a book by Sophie Kinsella, my favorite author, remember me? I was planning to buy the book months ago but always failed to. I was always so busy that the last time I read a book besides my textbooks were last December Christmas break.

We ate the Belgian chocolate cake and finished ¾ of it. It was delicious but we were too full to finish the whole cake. After that my sis went back to her room and I went to bed because I need to wake up early the next day for the preparation set off activity of sci-tech.

The usual I grabbed my phone to set the alarm and to my surprise there was a text message. It was from JI. He didn’t actually greeted me Happy Birthday but I knew he knew it was my birthday and the reason why he texted me at 12 in the morning. I fell asleep before 1 and my alarm rang at 8 in the morning. I have to meet Dionne at Dent-Sci lanai at 9. Sangs texted that morning and I was happy. I miss her so much. Kuya Oteph and Kuya June did their usual routine of GMs (General Messages), “Good Mornings, Good Afternoons, Good Evenings, Good Nights, Don’t forget to eat, Don’t to pray” and some inspirational quotes. They both remind me to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Xanne and Cianne texted next… Next thing I knew both of my smart and globe phone was full of birthday messages from both my family and friends.

We (committees of the send off party for the graduate students of sci-tech) started setting up dentsci lanai with blue and orange balloons, streamers, and stars. The activity went well. I was in charge of documentation and the sound system. (hm.. following dad’s footsteps) so I borrowed Cianne’s camera and it kindda low-bat so Gelli and Xanne took care of the documentation using Xanne’s camera while I focus on the sounds.

After the activity we (Dionne, Apple, Mellaine, Gelli, Cianne, Dyna, JI and I) went to McDo just to grab a bite. Since it was my birthday, it was my treat. Xanne have to leave early. We leave around 8pm. Most of them have to catch the LRT. I went back to the dorm and waited for 8:30pm to off all my electric appliances and lights for the 60 minutes save the earth day and turn it on again on an hour later. I was pretty tired then so I fell asleep around 10. That’s about it.. my 20th..
